<image:title>Ethan Bortnick Social Post - A casual review founded on casual design.</image:title>
<image:caption>Long-time designers know more than most that sometimes roadblocks lead to more intuitive designs. Learning how to work in various different programs at a moment’s notice is crucial, so I practiced with something low stakes. Canva and Procreate were the foundational programs for this project; Procreate allowed me to design freely, whereas Canva helped give me a platform to put the pieces together. Combining the two allowed me to create a postmodernist social carousel with the intention to hold intrigue.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ethan Bortnick Social Post - More than just words.</image:title>
<image:caption>Though the tracks in Bortnick’s EP all flow and work together, each one still has its own distinct character that I wanted to express via varying type treatment. Doppelgänger was an easy one - mixing the western elements from the sound of the song with a duplicate of the word seemed like a no-brainer. Playing actual hide and seek with the letters of the word was a concept I felt the need to see through, and adapting the luna park logo into custom type was the obvious choice for that track.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Period Interactive Packaging - Be bold.</image:title>
<image:caption>The idea of creating a product like PERIOD. started when I glanced over at a box of name-brand tampons laying on the bathroom counter. The amount of information present seemed to be jumping off the container and the design was very obviously tailored to appeal only to women. PERIOD. was designed to contrast this brand, starting with three goals in mind: audience appeal, portability and sustainability.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Period Interactive Packaging - Where’d we leave off?</image:title>
<image:caption>PERIOD.’s packaging was designed to be portable and discreet if need be, however their brand goal is to instill confidence into their users. PERIOD. believes mensuration is nothing to be ashamed of. Located inside the compact travel cases (standing at approx. 9in tall) are small individual tampon boxes (about the size of the palm of one’s hand). The case comes complete with colorful instructions, and another small box containing 2 Midol pills. By making everything out of sustainable materials, PERIOD. met their final goal: making sure their packaging is as recyclable as possible.</image:caption>

<image:title>Onion Boy Animated MV - Peel back the layers.</image:title>
<image:caption>The goal of this project was to create an animation that was as energetic and fascinating as the song that it accompanies. Onion Boy by Isaac Dunbar is a beat-driven synth-pop track that mixes with odd, yet entertaining lyrics. The animated video takes advantage of that by mixing kinetic typography with the use of fast-paced vector graphics.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Onion Boy Animated MV - Green with…</image:title>
<image:caption>The colors were a key aspect of portraying the tone of this video. Though the color was originally protested for seemingly giving the wrong message, green was intended to convey illness, grossness, and sourness. However, when the video reaches the bridge, the color changes to pink not only for variety and shock value but also to communicate a tone shift in Isaac’s view of the Onion Boy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Untapped Potential Logo - The Queen himself.</image:title>
<image:caption>This campaign was created to promote a ficitional remembrance concert for the infamous Freddie Mercury. By combining saturated graphics with bold typography, the original illustration’s aim was to invite people who come from a variety of backgrounds to celebrate Freddie's career in full color; The poster was made to convey a feeling of togetherness and nostalgia.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bounce N Party Logo - Bouncing ideas around.</image:title>
<image:caption>The goal for this logo was to create something refreshing and enjoyable, however, still incorporating Bounce N’ Party’s old design (AKA the flag affixed towers). Designing with the audience in mind was key in making this idea work; We knew that kids would gravitate toward a bright, neon color palette and their parents would appreciate typography with a bit of flare.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Alright, fair warning, I’m about to get a little personal. <image:caption>I think with design, it’s especially important to showcase your work in multiple scenarios. (It’s also kind of awesome to see your work as a potential reality, amirite?) I imagine that if this were an official design, it would be featured in a merch campaign, as a temporary album cover on streaming platforms, and more.</image:caption>
