Musician Review Social Post - Ethan Bortnick
Type practice meets my favorite music.
A casual review founded on casual design.
So many roadblocks can lead to finding a way to design in different programs at a moment’s notice, so I practiced with something low stakes.
Using Canva and Procreate, I was able to create a postmodernist social carousel that held intrigue. My main intention, besides having a good time, was to show that programs like Canva can be utilized as a tool in your design process.
Playing around with many different concepts led to an end goal that is rooted in a postmodernist approach yet clean enough to be easily read.
Fun fact.
Using a blackletter type font and pairing it with a picture of Eilish herself created depth in this piece and showed a possible collaboration of elements - these being type and picture to create a cohesive word. Then on top of that, illustrations were added to Eilish's jumper as a fun easter egg hunt. These illustrations were inspired by anything from Eilish’s songs, to her clothing style, to how other artists have interpreted her look.
