Olivia Rodrigo Alt Album Cover Art

Maybe this time the creativity will stick.

God, it’s brutal out here.

Alright, fair warning, I’m about to get a little personal. After a couple of months of creative drought, I was feeling more uninspired than ever and had been considering calling it quits via various alternative avenues. However, very recently I rekindled my love for design, and thus a new era was born. Thank you, Olivia Rodrigo.

This alternative design, created with the intention of complimenting Olivia Rodrigo’s original SOUR album cover art, started off as a digital art sketch. Instead, I thought a graphic edit might do the idea more justice. I mixed the collage elements I had originally pictured with a more inventive notepad background as well as individually photographed and edited stickers. (This is probably one of my largest .psd files to date, coming in at about 4 and a half GB. Eek.)

Cover fit for a debut.

I think with design, it’s especially important to showcase your work in multiple scenarios. (It’s also kind of awesome to see your work as a potential reality, amirite?) I imagine that if this were an official design, it would be featured in a merch campaign, as a temporary album cover on streaming platforms, and more.
